Fred Flitsch, PhD - CEO
- Fred has earned a Ph.D., in Chemistry from Harvard
University, an M.B.A., from Boston University, and B.S. with Summa Cum
Laude in both Physics, and Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute.
- Fred has over 20 years of experience in semiconductor
devices and processes in IBM, MiCRUS and Philips in various roles from
engineering, engineering management and operations management. These
responsibilities covered technology integration, technology development,
manufacturing, equipment maintenance and business processes in DRAM,
0.5um-0.35um ASIC, 0.35um NV memory, 0.35um-0.18um CMOS, 0.5um-0.25um
BiCMOS, and hi-voltage CMOS, including SOI.
- He has over 40 US and International patents
granted/pending and has authored 5 reviewed scientific papers.
- He is presently CEO of Array Optronix.
Mark Kalatsky – Principal
- Mark Kalatsky founded Semicoa in 1968 and brings 50
years of experience in business development, designing, developing
and manufacturing high reliability semiconductors.

Kate McFarland, MS - CFO, Principal
- Kate earned an M.S. from the University of California,
Davis in Human Development.
- Kate joined Semicoa in 1998 as VP of Strategic Market
Development from an academic staff career in an income unit for the University
of California. Her skills of business development in a small niche
Semiconductor company brought new customer contracts, significant revenue
growth, profitability and the successful sale of bipolar assets in 2008.
- Kate is the principal of Array Optronix
Sandeep Davé, MS - COO
- Sandeep has an M.S. in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Connecticut.
- Over 24 years of experience in R&D and manufacturing of Optics, and Semiconductor processing. As an operational manager, he has consistently demonstrated double digit performance improvement across costs, quality, speed, and customer satisfaction. Significant organizational direction changes were achieved by leading change management initiatives.
- From 1995 to 2009, he has worked at various levels in the MiCRUS, Philips, NXP Fishkill semiconductor organization including process engineering, engineering management, operations management, customer service and General Manager.
- From 1985 to 1995, he worked at Perkin-Elmer/Hughes Danbury Optical Systems in R&D Engineering, and Engineering Operations Management. He has also worked at General Electric in their Technical Marketing Program.
- Sandeep has 3 US patents granted and has authored 10 scientific papers.
- He is presently COO for Array Optronix.
Oleks O. Goushcha (aka Alexander Goushcha/Gushcha); Vice President
- Oleks has earned a PhD in Solid State Physics from the
Institute for Physics, Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, an M.S. in Solid
State Optics and Optical Engineering, Taras Shevchenko University, Kyiv,
B.S. in General Physics.
- Oleks has over 25 years of experience in research and
development of semiconductors devices and process, optoelectronic devices
and systems, molecular electronics elements.
- Prior to Array Optronix, Oleks served as Chief
Scientist and Chief Technology Officer at SEMICOA, Inc. and before that he
was a co-founder and the member of the Board of Directors of Dynamic LLC,
a small business manufacturer of optoelectronics, spectrometers, and
solid-state lasers.
- He has an extensive research record with world top
academic institutions like Max-Planck Institute for Radiochemistry,
Institute for Physics National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and
University of California.
- Oleks holds 7 patents issued and 14 patent applications
pending; he is the author of over 100 research papers in peer reviewed and
professional journals and several book chapters, including "Optical
Detectors" in the Springer Handbook of Lasers and Optics (ed. Frank
Traeger, July 2007). He made numerous invited talk and presentations at
different research and professional conferences worldwide.
- Oleks serves as Industrial Advisory Board Member at
UCI's Henry Samueli School of Engineering (Dept. of Electrical
Engineering), and SPIE and IEEE member.
- Awards include the Max-Planck Society Fellowship Award,
the Netherlands Ministry of Sciences Fellowship Award, USSR Senior
Research Scientist, and Best research work in Physics in Ukraine Awards
from Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
- He is presently V.P. of Technology for Array Optronix.
Dan Codi - SVP (Cust Svc, Mktg, Eng)
- Dan
has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute.
- Over
20 years of semiconductor leadership experience in manufacturing
operations, product engineering, yield management, and process/equipment
engineering. Dan has over 15 years of experience in semiconductor
technology, managing all aspects of product engineering and yield improvement
within the Fishkill factory as it transitioned from IBM to MiCRUS, Philips
and then NXP.
- His
responsibilities included the management of product introductions and
volume ramp-ups in DRAM, 0.5um-0.35um ASIC, 0.35um NV memory,
0.35um-0.18um CMOS, 0.5um-0.25um BiCMOS and hi-voltage CMOS. This included
electrical test characterization, physical failure analysis, wafer level
reliability testing, and customer technical support.
- Dan
has also served as the Director of Operations responsible for leading over
500 people, and developing enhanced organizational methods, including
championing the site Six Sigma Program, that enabled breakthrough
improvements in cycle time and yield, while decreasing cost and increasing
capacity without Capex.
- He
is presently Sr Vice President - Marketing, Customer Interface and
Engineering for Array Optronix.
George Papadopoulos , M.E. Eng. - VP Engineering & Operations
- George has over 20 years of Optoelectronics Product Development, Executive Engineering Management Leadership, Operations Management, and manufacturing experience of Photonic Devices.
- Prior to joining ARRAY OPTRONIX, George was the Sr. Director of Wafer Fab Engineering and Operations at MICROSEMI, while he served as Director of Wafer Fab Engineering and Operations at SEMICOA, Director Manufacturing Engineering at IQC, Director of Process Development and Manufacturing Engineering at NanoOpto, Wafer Fab Engineering Manager at Perkin Elmer Optoelectronics, and Senior Development Member of Technical Staff at EG&G Optoelectronics for over 11 years.
- George received a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (M.E.Eng.) with specialization in Photonic Devices from Carleton University in Ottawa-Canada, and Executive Management Certificates from MIT Sloan School of Management in Technology, Operations, Value Chain Management, Management and Leadership.
- George has 2 US Patents, and has authored several publications. He also serves as an Industrial Advisory Board Member at the University of California at Irvine (Henry Samueli School of Engineering), and he is an IEEE member.
- He is presently VP Engineering Operations for Array Optronix.
Mary Domkiw - HR, Administration
- Mary has
been in human resources at IBM, Philips and brings more than 20 years
professional HR experience to the table for clients with a broad and
diversified background,with systems experience in all phases of human
resource applications.
- Mary has
helped build high performance teams via recruiting and staffing needs
analysis, conducting benefits and compensation analysis and
implementation, and building employee relations.
